In the place where Dorothée Munyaneza was born are growing umuko trees with their bright red flowers. A holy tree with healing properties, umuko keeps ancient stories and memories. Around the umuko, Munyaneza has gathered 5 young artists from the Rwandese scene.
Musicians, dancers, poets, they are for her these “brand-new ancients”, quoting the British musician and poet Kae Tempest. Powerful, rebellious and vulnerable, they dream the Rwanda of tomorrow without forgetting its history and legacy. Munyaneza returns to Rovereto blending dance, music and poetry.
The performance is part of Focus on Rwanda.
