Pissourin

Concerto

Night is when anything can happen. When shapes shift and blur. When it is difficult to know what is real and what is illusion. Night is the time of imagination.

“Pissourin”, the fourth album by Cypriots Monsieur Doumani, a danceable storm of string instruments, multi-layered singing and trombone, was born in the darkness of a night.
The album goes beyond the trio's trademark Mediterranean sonics, taking them in a more psychedelic, avant-folk direction.
Acclaimed all over the world for their innovative reinterpretations of the Cypriot musical tradition, they have won numerous awards including the Songlines “Best Group” in Great Britain in 2019 and the Andrea Parodi Critics Award in 2018, Monsieur Doumani are definitely looking for something new and arrive on the Oriente Occidente stage with all their vigorous restlessness.

One of the most entertaining, confident and inventive groups in the scene.
