After three years, Lucia Latour and the group Altroteatro return to Oriente Occidente. The new show co-produced by the Festival is entitled "Naturalmente Tua" ("Naturally Yours") and was born, according to the Roman choreographer, out of a passion for nature.
Latour founded the Altroteatro Company following the dissolution of the experimental group "Altro" in 1981, which included painters, architects, visual artists, musicians, and dancers.
Over the past decade, the Company's work has highlighted a line of research on the body that started with investigating the possibilities of movement in relation to gravity, as seen in shows like "Frilli Troupe" ('86) and "On y tombe… on n’y tombe" ('88), and progressed towards creating an increasingly complex expressive language. From the encounter with the work of the Trentino futurist artist Fortunato Depero, "Anihccam" was born in '89, a multimedia show of remarkable visual strength, commissioned by Oriente Occidente and successfully performed in various Italian and European cities.
An architect as well as a choreographer, Latour is distinguished by creations in which scenic construction has, together with multivision, a close relationship with the montage of choreographic writing. A captivating dynamism rich in humor characterizes the work of Altroteatro, realized with the collaboration of various artists, including musician Luigi Ceccarelli, painter Franco Pulsoni, set designer Gianfranco Lucchino, and costume designer Marina Lund.
Regarding "Naturalmente Tua," the creation presented in Rovereto, the author writes:
"The atmosphere is determined by the relationship between the body and nature today. Water, air, and earth are considered semiotic worlds that the body traverses (physically, practically, mentally, emotionally)."
A dynamic "mixture" organized in dance, vision, and rhythm determines the emotional flow of the show, which seeks in choreography "new visual desires" where the body poetically and eccentrically interacts with the movements of birds, fish, trees... or clouds...
Sensitivity to natural events (with irony and ambiguity), the use of "electronic" visual montages, projections, the play between the possible and the impossible, fictions, illusions, "naiveté" and current gestures of our visual consumption, make "Naturalmente Tua" venture onto new paths of Emotion.
A wooden platform and five fans, four fixed and one mobile, constitute the scenic material of the show, in relation to which the bizarre light effects and the "natural" images of the multivision alternate.
