Daniel Squire trained at White Lodge and at Rambert. He has performed with Michael Clark, Ian Spink, Matthew Hawkins, Merce Cunningham, Irish Modern Dance Theatre, John Kelly, Paulina Olowska, and others. He studied Shakespeare at RADA, has been a percussionist in several semi-professional orchestras, and continues to act, teach, play, dance, stage, and perform internationally. He is on faculty at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, and also practises as a Clinical Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist. He was Curator for the Dance Program for the exhibit Dancing Around the Bride: Cage, Cunningham, Johns, Rauschenberg, and Duchamp at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in 2012/2013. He will be the primary stager for Night of 100 Solos: A Centennial Event at the Barbican, London, on the night of what would have been Merce Cunningham’s 100th birthday. He will stage Merce’s work on various companies throughout the centenary: including for the Royal Ballet, who will perform Merce’s work—for the first time—as part of their 2020/21 season.
