Artist who combines his activity as an actor with a constant study of contemporary dance, movement pedagogy and his own personal choreographic research, Alessio Maria Romano is at the same time an analyst of the Laban/Bartenieff Movement (C.M.A.) and a teacher of physical training and stage movement at the school "L. Ronconi" of the Piccolo Teatro in Milan, where he is also educational coordinator.
He has collaborated, for the physical preparation of actors and choreographic movements, with directors such as Luca Ronconi, Carmelo Rifici, Valter Malosti, Andrea De Rosa, Jacopo Gassmann. He choreographed the Nuovo Balletto di Toscana for the opera Fernando Cortez directed by Cecilia Ligorio at the Maggio Fiorentino. Since 2016 he has been working on his own personal creations such as Bye Bye, Dispersi, Chorós and Avida Dollars. He is invited by Antonio Latella to the 2018 and 2020 Venice Biennale Theatre College. He wins the 2015 National Critics' Award (ANCT) as a theatrical pedagogue and choreographer. He receives the Leone d'Oro at the 2020 Theatre Biennale.
