The American Dance Machine represents a unique phenomenon in the US performing arts scene. Founded by Lee Theodore, a choreographer and dancer of vast experience, with the aim of building a living archive of American musical theatre, since 1945 it has revived and reconstructed the most famous pieces from some 40 musicals.
The reinterpretations of the great Broadway hits - from Cabaret to Hair, from Hallo Dolly to My fair Lady - offered by the American Dance Machine with great precision and quality constitute the most complete approach to the most important spectacular form of American culture.
